Hinges ~ Vertical ~ X to C Relation

Drill a vertical hinge pattern with double fans by alternating between C relation and X relation while keeping the pathway aligned to the body’s vertical line. Nikki Scarano frames it as a stacked C that “drags” into X, then returns through C as the lower hand pushes the other fan to meet.

Focus on wrist orientation and palm facing to keep the hinges clean and the relationship changes readable: one palm away and one palm in, with wrists facing each other. Practise flipping and swapping the wrists to repeat the same C–X–C–X sequence on the opposite side with consistent timing and spacing.
