Lines: Vertical

This lesson drills the vertical line as an imaginary pathway splitting the body centreline, used to organise fan timing and hand paths. You practise aligning the prop and arm track so the movement reads cleanly along a single vertical plane, improving consistency and spatial awareness.

Nikki Scarano encourages mirroring to calibrate orientation and tracking, using a simple visual reference to make the line easier to see. Apply this linework to tighten shapes, reduce unwanted drift, and create clearer transitions between patterns by returning to a stable vertical reference.
