Further with the Matrix

Build the poi Matrix by extending an A4 four-beat corkscrew into a more horizontal plane and refining where the pattern initiates. Nick Woolsey emphasises starting the entry as the right hand wraps around into the downward pathway, rather than beginning on the rise, so the timing and directionality stay consistent.

You’ll drill the first beats until the pathway feels stable, then use a slight body turn and a controlled back lean to keep the poi tracking cleanly past the ribs as the sequence carries itself through. Includes a practical focus on pacing, warming up, and back-bending strength to avoid lower-back strain.
