Once you start reversing left, reversing right... let go of picking-a-direction

Working with stalls and reverses in poi, this lesson clarifies what happens to your overall direction when you reverse on the right and then reverse on the left. Nick Woolsey frames it as dropping the “this direction is always forwards” rule once you begin switching from same-direction patterns (like weaves) into opposite-direction butterfly work.

You’ll drill the idea that each reverse flips the travel direction of that poi, and doing both sides effectively swaps the whole system’s orientation. The practical takeaway is to treat whatever direction you exit a reverse from as your new “forwards”, so transitions stay consistent when you alternate right and left reverses.
