More on playing freely with same-time
Build freer same-time poi movement by making clean decisions about direction and orientation. Nick Woolsey frames same-time as both poi travelling the same direction and timing, then asks you to stay consistent across the four facing directions so you can spot weak links and keep your reels stable while you move.
From a steady same-time base, you explore adding lateral swoops, inside-the-arms pathways, and high/low level changes while keeping control of plane. A key drill is maintaining a tight wall plane (even using a real wall as feedback), then connecting that “painting” motion into passes behind the shoulders and behind the hips by using small body turns to create space.
