Introducing Jiggies

Jiggy is introduced as a body-led approach to poi where the prop follows your torso rather than your arms. Using a basic side-to-side crossing, you’ll drill keeping the hands close to the sternum or ribs while pivoting and rocking through the hips and legs to drive the poi’s timing and direction.

Nick Woolsey frames this as a foundational refinement for loosening up and connecting whole-body movement to your patterns. Practise forwards and backwards, aiming for minimal hand travel and clear body rotation so the poi becomes an expression of your full movement rather than isolated arm work.
