Mastering 2-beat weaves
Drill clean 2-beat weaves for poi, focusing on consistent over/under relationships rather than drifting into a 3-beat feel. You’ll practise forward and backward 2-beats with either the right or left crossing on top, and build control by pausing or “freezing” with a chosen hand on top/under at any point in the pattern.
Nick Woolsey then has you rotate your body into a milled position while keeping the timing and pathway intact, clarifying the plane shift between weave (wheel plane) and milling (wall plane front-to-back). This foundation supports later combinations such as fountains and anti-spin work.
