Tick tock looping
Focus on looping a tick tock pattern with poi, using a continuous “live” repetition to help you lock in timing and muscle memory. Nick Woolsey emphasises keeping straight planes while you settle into a steady rhythm, noticing how the top poi can either sweep wide or stay tighter to your body lines.
Use the loop as a mirroring drill: match one arm at a time, then progress to two-arm coordination by holding only one poi while moving both arms, before adding the second poi. You’re also encouraged to experiment with poi length to find a setup that supports cleaner beats and more comfortable control in both directions.
