3-beat weave lead-up #1
This lead-up isolates the timing and pathway that sets up a forward 3-beat weave. You drill the 1-2-3 rhythm as two circles on one side and one circle on the other to reset, building consistent side-to-side placement.
Nick Woolsey emphasises the over–under relationship and body orientation that keeps the pattern clean: let the poi drift to find the under pass rather than pulling back. Practise slowly in each hand until the rhythm feels even, the free arm stays loose, and your turn through the sternum supports smooth transitions into the full weave.
