3-beat weave with your feet step 1

Practise the first step of a 3-beat poi weave using your feet instead of your hands. Nick Woolsey shows how to set the tether around your toe, then build a clean outside circle by adjusting foot orientation so the poi tracks smoothly off the bottom of the toe.

You’ll drill the core weave pathway by sending the poi over and under the opposite foot, then returning, establishing the crossing pattern and timing needed for a continuous 3 Beat. The focus is on toe and ankle dexterity, consistent circle plane control, and choosing a lead foot to start the pattern from the centre.
