Crossing one poi forward

Drill a single poi forward spin while crossing from left to right side without changing direction. You’ll practise starting on each side, pausing to confirm the feel of forward timing, then letting the hand travel across the body like switching tracks. Nick Woolsey highlights how the same forward circle appears clockwise on one side and counterclockwise on the other, helping you stay oriented through the cross.

Refine the crossing by relaxing your arm and letting the motion involve weight shift, hips, and shoulders for smoother travel into turns and dance. Explore range and control by varying height (overhead to feet), width (wide to close), reach (near to far), and speed, including slow control and rhythmic timing to music.
