Learning corkscrew
Drill the poi corkscrew as a two-handed horizontal pattern built from a single lead poi. Nick Woolsey starts with one poi shortened and the other held, then has you drive the lead poi across the belly line and up and over the top, repeating the same pathway to establish timing and direction.
Once the pathway is consistent, release the second poi and have it chase the leader to form the full corkscrew. The key refinement is keeping the plane flat and stable; using a table as a reference can help you check that your spins stay level while you swap which hand leads.
