Smoothing out the same-time turns

Refine your same-time poi turns by reducing extra arm motion and letting your torso rotation carry the change of direction. Nick Woolsey focuses on timing the turn with the poi’s pathway so the switch happens as one continuous action, keeping the pattern smooth, symmetrical, and consistent.

You’ll drill turns from in front (passing the toes) and from behind (passing the hips/shoulders), using clear orientation cues and relaxed shoulders. Emphasis is on returning to a clean, level hand position behind you, and waiting for the poi to be fully on the back plane before turning, so transitions stay efficient and repeatable.
