The missing reels

This lesson breaks down the “missing reels” variation from hip reels, focusing on how the poi relate in plane at the top versus the bottom of the circles. Nick Woolsey has you observe the standard pattern where both poi align in the same plane near the chest, but split front/back as they pass the feet.

You then drill reversing that relationship by starting low and matching both poi to toes together and heels together before switching. The aim is building clear spatial awareness of planes and timing so the reversal stops feeling “wrong” and becomes a usable reel option for later transitions and technical pattern work.
