Too fat for behind the back weave
This lesson tackles the common worry that body size or limited flexibility prevents a behind the back weave. Using a one-poi drill, you isolate shoulder and arm range, then shift the workload into body orientation by turning the sternum with the poi so the hand path stays closer to centreline.
Nick Woolsey contrasts turning with the poi versus turning against it, highlighting why the “wrong-way” turn demands more reach. You’ll use a simple mobility check (hand to tailbone) and practise rewiring timing and rotation so behind-the-back weaving relies more on torso turn than extreme shoulder flexibility.
