Turning with poi between the arms
Drill a smooth turn while keeping both poi in a forwards, together-time pattern inside the arms. You practise timing the rotation so you only turn when the heads are travelling away and down, then let them drop and re-enter cleanly between the arms rather than drifting outside.
Nick Woolsey emphasises patience and consistent pathways: pass the poi down past the toes, then bring them over the top to return inside the arms, repeating through continuous turns in either direction. This builds reliable turning mechanics that set you up for later split-time versions.
