Practicing turning footwork

Turning footwork is drilled through a repeating stepping circle in both directions, stacking the pattern gradually until it feels automatic. Nick Woolsey focuses on pivoting on the ball of the lead foot with the heel lifting, then letting the other foot land softly through the heel to reset alignment for the next pivot.

You’ll refine posture and gaze so you’re not collapsing to look down, and you’ll work on turning the foot far enough to avoid torquing the knee. The goal is clean weight placement, tall body orientation, and reliable turn mechanics you can keep revisiting in weekly poi training.
