Footwork: Heel Pivots

Drill heel pivots for clean direction changes in flow and fans. You’ll practise lifting the toes, balancing briefly, and rotating on the heel to shift from centre to right and centre to left. Keep the knees softly bent so the pivot stays grounded rather than sticky or forced.

Focus on whole-body orientation as you turn: the toes lead and the chest follows, so your line of travel and facing stay aligned. This footwork supports smoother transitions when changing your facing and can reinforce the same turning mechanics used when shifting between wall plane and wheel plane work.
