Circle stepping adding poi
Build stable circular stepping around a clear centre point, stepping through the middle rather than around the outside. The focus is on foot-led turning and smooth weight transfer so your body glides around the circle without cranking the supporting foot. Practise facing towards and away from the centre as you rotate, keeping the circle consistent in space.
Then add arms and poi as alternating downward “cuts” to the outside edge of the circle, returning through a T-shaped position each step. Nick Woolsey highlights how turning shifts your planes, so you drill clean pathway control by bringing each hand over the top rather than collapsing through the middle.
