Exploring how to circle the hand and poi on a plane
Work on keeping your poi circles clean on a consistent plane by isolating what the hand is actually drawing. Nick Woolsey uses a wall drill where you ‘trace’ circles with a stick like a marker, building the scooping pathway your wrist, fingers, and hand need for true circular motion rather than default up-and-down pumping.
Practise forward and backward circles on both hands, using the wall for immediate feedback on shape and tilt. Then match that same hand circle with a poi, aiming to reduce drifting inwards or outwards and improve control of plane orientation across different angles around your body.
