Following the weaves with your body
Work on making your forward and backward poi weaves a whole-body pattern rather than an arm-only drill. Nick Woolsey cues you to let your sternum and chest rotate towards the side your poi are travelling, keeping your hands close together and centred in front of you so your torso “follows” the weave.
As you add more body turn, reduce arm input to avoid oversteering. Use the train-tracks and “imaginary walls” images to practise turning side to side with relaxed breathing, building the rotational habit that later supports clean transitions between weaves and into turns.
