Jon archer weave
Refine a standard forward three-beat weave into an archer weave by changing body orientation and pathway. Nick Woolsey shows how to step into a 45-degree archer stance with one arm extended while the other poi tracks closer to the elbow and then under the armpit, creating clearer cross points and offset circles.
You’ll drill a gradual transition from a regular weave (and the familiar weave-to-fountain feel) by sliding the weaving hand back in stages, using body “jig” and a door-like sway of the extended arm to make space for the over-shoulder, under-armpit line. Practise both sides and explore flattening towards a more wall-plane look once stable.
