More left-right goodness: One poi spinning, the other poi extenduluming
Work a left–right independence drill combining a steady spin on one poi with large extended pendulum circles on the other. You’ll practise keeping the spinning poi consistent while the other arm travels through big forward or backward circles, staying loose through the shoulder by letting the torso turn with the movement and using the whole body.
Nick Woolsey uses this to refine plane control and timing relationships. Explore different speeds so the spinner completes several rotations per one pendulum cycle, then swap sides and directions to introduce simple polyrhythms (e.g., 2-in-1 or 3-in-1) without forcing both poi to match tempo.
