Poitruvian arms

Practise Poitruvian arms as a body-led foundation for poi work, focusing on tall, relaxed posture with an open chest and stable pelvis. Drill the arm pathway from nose past the ear to the back of the head, then reach and let the arm swing down in a full circular arc past the legs without cutting corners. Keep the shoulder seated in the socket to build strength and range while warming and lubricating the joints.

Refine the same pathway on both sides, then coordinate both arms in opposition, one rising as the other drops, maintaining clean timing and consistent planes. This pattern becomes a reliable transition hub for opening into later poi shapes and pathways.
