Stalls - using a wall to get started
Use a wall or pillar to train crisp poi stalls with clear timing and feedback. Nick Woolsey has you bring the head close enough to brush the surface so you can identify the exact beat where the poi is travelling straight up or straight down in the circle, then stop cleanly at that vertical moment.
The wall helps you troubleshoot common errors like reaching too early or waiting too long, and supports repetition for refinement over time. You’ll drill up-stalls and down-stalls by sliding along the wall, exploring two hand actions: a direct “touch and back” in–out motion, and a small isolation-like arc, often blended for control.
