Turning between the weaves: Troubleshooting a common mistake

Troubleshoot turning between weaves without popping out of pattern. Nick Woolsey isolates the common habit of letting the turning-side arm lead, noting it can be useful for other pathways but changes the weave structure. You’ll practise staying in split-time while preparing the turn and keeping the correct hand relationship through the rotation.

The main drill uses a clear cross-under to “mark” the turn, moving from forwards to backwards weave (and back) by ensuring the correct hand crosses on top at the right moment. Use the deliberate X-shape checkpoint to diagnose early releases, plane loss, and inconsistent timing between hands.
