Using walls to master windmills, watermills, and reels
Use a wall as tactile feedback to refine plane control in poi windmills, watermills, and reels. Nick Woolsey has you stand with your back to the wall and gradually inch closer while keeping the heads slipping cleanly through the narrowing space between your back and the wall, exposing any unintentional plane drift.
Drill shoulder reels, hip reels, and split-time hip reels, then combine patterns such as chase the sun. The goal is straighter, more symmetrical circles and more consistent persistence of vision by training the body to correct off-plane pathways quickly.
