Exploring planes
Plane control here means managing the tilt and angle your poi spin on, so your patterns stay clean when you want them to, and deliberately bend or change planes when you choose. Nick Woolsey frames planes as a core skill that supports both technical vocabulary and overall visual clarity.
You drill controlled plane bending from a forward split-time spin into split-time butterfly and back, without crossing the poi. You also explore bringing both heads together above into a helicopter plane and returning, plus tipping both poi left or right. The focus is smooth, intentional transitions between planes rather than accidental wobble.
