Poi fu warmup

A poi fu warm-up focused on finger and shoulder circles to build clean circular pathways, range control, and whole-body looseness. You’ll drill forward and backward rotations at different sizes while checking posture and keeping the circles consistent rather than oval or angular.

Nick Woolsey then reviews poi fu timing and direction changes, including same-direction and opposite-direction modes, aiming for matched height and smooth top/bottom alignment. Breath cues support steady rhythm, and the sequence points towards translating these mechanics into familiar poi patterns and simple turning to change facing and direction without losing flow.
