The one beat windmill
Work the one-beat windmill as a control drill rather than rushing towards higher-beat variations. Keep your windmill consistent clockwise or counterclockwise, paying attention to clean crossing, steady tempo, and maintained planes through the full pathway, especially behind you where sloppiness often appears.
Nick Woolsey uses a no-beat windmill pause to test and refine structure: stop beating and hold one poi in front and one behind without losing plane or rhythm, then re-enter the windmill. Use a mirror, shadow, or wall for feedback to build confidence, smoother tracking, and stronger persistence-of-vision circles.
