Working on left/right dexterity with stalls and transitions
Build left/right dexterity by keeping one poi spinning steadily while the other drills stalls and simple transitions. Nick Woolsey uses a mirror set-up so you can match timing and direction, then focuses on separating your channels so one side holds a consistent inward rhythm while the other moves like a pendulum.
Practise gentle over-and-under pathway changes and paused stall points without disturbing the spinning hand, then reintroduce the second poi and explore placing stalls in different spatial positions. This trains control, relaxation, and clean timing so transitions stay smooth rather than forceful.
